New garden plans

With Spring around the corner, I've been thinking about my garden. I moved two of my boxes to the opposite side of the yard.. for a few reasons. (The kids play set is over near the old location, I think it was too shaded when the trees are full, and the poison ivy was near there and don't want any of the spray getting into my garden). This year the garden will be a mix of flowers, vegetables and herbs. I am also going to try to grow some pumpkins for the fall.

My spring flowers are doing well. The daffodils are full and my new addition this year was tulips. I just had my first bloom.

We had a busy week here. Tuesday the trampoline park in Asheville has a "toddler time" and we met up with one of our church friends. The kids jumped for a solid hour and a half. They had a blast and wanted to keep going. We will definitely be going back. After that we had our lunch in a nearby park. The kids got to play for another hour in the playground there. I was sure they would nap on the way home with all of that activity, but neither of them did.

This week was also the first rehearsal for the community band. I am excited to conduct part of one concert and actually ran through something this week with everyone. It looks like the concert I will be conducting is half of the June one.

Alex rode her bike without training wheels! With the nice weather, we have been doing a lot of bike/scooter rides. She decided on Monday that she was ready to try her big bike without them and did really well! She had a couple of minor crashes but overall is doing great. David has also started figuring out his scooter. He can now steer it as well as stop!

This next week is supposed to turn back cold again. I'm trying to decided when I will be starting my indoor seeds this year. I think I have another week or so before I do. But that will be fun to play around with another day.
