Today (President's Day), the kids did a little craft making flags. I didn't have any red paper so we did blue instead. I first thought we could replicate the US flag, but soon realized that they just wanted to do their own thing... so we had blue stripes and star stickers and they worked on their own unique flags.

Alex is on her last page of her phonics book. I told her when she finished the book, she could pick a prize from Target. We will be stopping there before gym this week. She's excited to get a prize!

The kids are enjoying the backyard a lot on the warmer days. The swings and slides are a ton of fun. Alex is usually swinging and David likes to roll things down the slide. They have also been spending a lot of time digging in the empty garden beds. I'm debating getting a sand box for them. I was thinking they could just play in the dirt, but a sandbox might be better for the rest of the year when the garden beds are full.

This week I will drive the kids up to visit my friend in Virginia. I'll have a 7+ hour drive with the kiddos on my own. I'm dreading the drive, but looking forward to the visit. When we get back it will be March and hopefully the beginnings of Spring.
