We had a nice second hike this year with the kids. Our first hike was a flat path along and over a creek. David did well for his first hike outside of the baby carrier. He walked about half and was carried half. His favorite thing of the day was walking directly through the deep puddles. Alex enjoyed that for a while, but was eventually bothered by wet feet.
For this hike, David loved stepping and jumping on the many rocks. He kept saying “more” for finding more rocks to step on. He liked the big rocks, small rocks and flowers along the way. Alex hiked quickly with her dad and when we caught up to her, she was jumping around in delight. My watched logged us going 3/4 mile uphill and then back. David hiked almost the whole way up and rode in the carrier most of the way down. It was a gorgeous day. This hike is our favorite because you come out of the forrest and hike along the top of the “bald” mountains… so you have a very nice view almost the whole time.

At home we have been spending a lot of time outside (until the bugs start to bother Alex). It has been very nice weather. My garden is off to a good start. Some of my seeds are sprouting and most of the gladiolus are doing well. I am debating getting one more planter box… but haven’t decided yet if I need it. I see the beginnings of a nice cut garden!
