It has certainly been cold here lately... but really no snow. Today it was 7 degrees when I got up. We have been keeping busy indoors. However, I am looking forward to letting the kids run around outside for a while. It is supposed to warm up this week, so hopefully we will have a dry day to do that.
This month Alex started her Advanced gymnastics class. We weren't sure how it would go because it is later in the day (all the way to her bedtime), as well as 2 hours in length, AND a male teacher. The girls in that class have also been together for several months and Alex would be behind them. With all of those difficulties, Alex loves it. She is so excited to go. It is really fun to watch this class. All the girls are on task and working on their skills but having fun too. At her first class they were at the bars and the teacher told them all to do a pull-over and then hold at the top. All the girls did it immediately and Alex did too. (She just bearly has been able to do this skill, and this was without any warm-up on it). She was so proud of herself. She practices her skills all the time at home, and this week she even got her splits. So we are happy this class is going well for her.
Another big this for us this month was the Choir Open House. We hosted "Cocoa for Choir" at our house this weekend. Pretty much the whole choir showed up for hot cocoa and treats. It was a nice time, and I think we should make it an annual thing. It was good to get the choir together in a social situation.
David had his doctor's appointment with the Pulminologist last week. The doctor said that all the signs seem to point to asthma and to keep up with our current medication regiment for him. We will reassess after the winter.
The choir has been rehearsing on our normal 2x's a month schedule. We have been preparing an anthem for the first Sunday of February and then Palm Sunday. I also need to still figure out something for Easter. I have plans to have the choir and other musicians of the congregation put on a concert for the community this year. I still need to work out a date for that.
